Introduction to History in the Making

Hey everyone!

Today is going to history in the making as President-Elect Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th president of the United States of America. I still can't believe it...it hasn't hit me that this politician from my hometown of Chicago, Barack Obama, is going to lead our nation into a better tomorrow.

Today, I am addressing my generation, Generation Y, also known as the "youth vote" (ages 18-29)According to the Tartan.org, more than 74% of us came out in record numbers to vote in this election. That's the second highest youth in American history! And guess what? Washington D.C heard our demands loud and clear: we want change. We want our country to change the way the world perceives us, we want economic change, we want our $40,000 a year college tuition to get us a job that we've gone to school for, we want the war to end, we want hope for a better tomorrow, we want peace.

Remember to go out today and celebrate our victory that we've worked hard for...and in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, go out their and serve others. If you need a little help, here are a couple of websites that I like:

Until next time,
