I'm on that Medical School hustle...

So, I'll be brief. I am a second year pre-med student.
I've been working like crazy this semester and currently I am almost finished with my finals. So far two of the four have kicked my ass. It's day four of five and I've slept a total of 24hrs split between those four days and it looks like I won't be sleeping tonight either... Chemistry requires and all-nighter to redeem my grade.
My advice to aspiring pre--med students. Always work ahead and plan on committing time to having a relationship with your studies because it will come to bite you in the ass. What ever free time you have, spend it wisely, because you'll need all the time you can get. Also, plan on becoming and insomniac; it's inevitable :)

Anyways, wish me the best of luck as I try to conquer my chemistry final and own it!

Peace and hit me up with any of your questions

The death of the Legendary King of Pop

On thursday, June 25th , I got the news the Michael Jackson died. I came inside from swimming and my sister put the t.v. on MTV. I saw the meter thing on the bottom of the screen saying that Michael Jackson died. I thought to myself, what kind of sick joke it this? How can Michael Jackson be dead? The King of Pop can't be dead? Then as the night progressed on, all t.v. networks confirmed MJ's death. The news came at such a shock because MJ really did seem immortal. Yesterday I was in shock and awe that Michael Jackson was dead, now today I feel as if I lost a family member or a dear friend...I feel so sad...as if a piece of my life is gone. Michael Jackson was the standard of pop culture and no one will ever measure up to the amount of influence that MJ had world-wide. Just the wasy he moved and dance and sang...no one will ever amount to that. It's just so sad that people were so mean to him and said really cruel thing to him and about him, forgetting the fact that MJ was human and had a heart and feelings like the rest of us. Although some of the things surrounding MJ in the last part of this decade were controversial, I think it's so sad that he left this earth so suddenly; out of the blue. Well, I think it's safe to say the great always die young. I hope that MJ is resting in the peace that he wanted so badly. RIP MJ and you'll be a tough act to follow.

Stagnation in a moving world...

I finally gathered my thoughts together and told my roommate about how I was feeling. You see, at college, especially the college that I go to, it is so simple to get caught up in our everyday cycle and forget the fact that we are attending college so that we may impact the world that we live in. With there being a couple weeks left in the semestre, I have to admit that I am currently in stagnation. To me, stagnation can be bad, but it gets worse over time-- a feeling that you are not progressing or growing as a person. What I am currently experiencing is a lack of inspiration and motivation; I continue my daily cycle of school, work eat, homework and repeat. When I go up to people it's always the same old, "How's it going?" Good, talk to you later." I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I want to break this cycle and appretiate the world that we live in and know that my college education will be applicable to the real world.
What are your thought?

Introduction to History in the Making

Hey everyone!

Today is going to history in the making as President-Elect Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th president of the United States of America. I still can't believe it...it hasn't hit me that this politician from my hometown of Chicago, Barack Obama, is going to lead our nation into a better tomorrow.

Today, I am addressing my generation, Generation Y, also known as the "youth vote" (ages 18-29)According to the Tartan.org, more than 74% of us came out in record numbers to vote in this election. That's the second highest youth in American history! And guess what? Washington D.C heard our demands loud and clear: we want change. We want our country to change the way the world perceives us, we want economic change, we want our $40,000 a year college tuition to get us a job that we've gone to school for, we want the war to end, we want hope for a better tomorrow, we want peace.

Remember to go out today and celebrate our victory that we've worked hard for...and in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, go out their and serve others. If you need a little help, here are a couple of websites that I like:

Until next time,
